The winery was founded in 1882 in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, in Alto Penedés, in a farmhouse, Can Goulart, which dates back to the beginning of the 18th century. It was an ambitious project with the aim of producing sparkling wines of the highest quality, inspired by the cellars of the time in the Champagne region.
The winery was designed and constructed by Ignaci Mas i Morell, a contemporary of Antonio Gaudi, in the early years of the 20th century. Underneath the building, a 30 meters deep and one kilometer long underground cellar was excavated. These galleries are of ideal conditions for the long bottle aging of cavas, with low light, silence, and constant temperatures of 14-15ºC, and with a 85% humidity.
Roger Goulart is distinguished by the production of Grandes Reservas with long aging time. Our cavas benefit from the long contact and interaction of the yeast with the wine.
